Fascinating: forgetfulness as a strategy :) I think the Zeigarnik Effect accounts for the fact that I have a difficult time recalling the content of books that I am certain I have read very diligently :) Somewhere in my mind, I must be treating book reading as a series of discrete projects whereas the real journey, it would seem, is to use books as a facilitator of lifelong learning, discovery, and curiosity which has no beginning or end.
